The Birth Chart of Charles, Prince of Wales * William, Harry and the British Monarchy

Update:  On September 8, sometime between noon and probably 1:00 p.m., Queen Elizabeth II passed to the Other Side, and at that moment, her son became our new King Charles III. This gives his reign the vibration of Virgo, said to be alchemically linked with, part of, the Sign Scorpio under which Charles was born.

But before I post an analysis of the chart of ascension for the new Charles, as King, below we have the basic birth chart of Charles. The kingship will change him, without a doubt, but the building blocks of his lifetime are all here, in his birth chart.

His Sun Sign is in 22 degrees of Scorpio, Ascendant 5 degrees of Leo and Moon 0 degrees of Taurus.

The Sun, ruler of his Ascendant Leo (which marks off the beginning of his 1st House), rules his chart. As Leo is the Sign of Kingship, we can expect Charles to at some point, become king. And, as I note in my post on her chart, Camilla clearly has a remarkable connection to Charles, with both of their charts anchored in a 5-degree Leo Ascendant.  There is karma, most likely of a long and loving kind – and it is my psychic reading that loving Charles has, for Camilla, been in some lifetimes through being his mother.

As ruler of Leo, the Sun will rule this birth chart, though we know Prince Charles’s Sun is actually in Scorpio.  And, because his Sun is found in the 4th House it we can see his resonance to the sign of Cancer which is the Sign of the Fourth House in the archetypal, “natural” zodiac.  As a father, Charles can relate to William who is a Cancer, and might well have connected better with Diana, also a Cancer, had there been no prior – karmic – destiny with Camilla.

The 4th House rules home and family and this is where soul DNA in the birth chart can be very revealing.  Here are the physical, karmic, psychological and spiritual roots of family history going back many generations, so that we can trace here the spirit line of a family.  Here are the entertwined roots of karma, and here we can widen our vision to understand that there is much more going on in a life than what we see on the surface.

I focus initially on several “asteroid” points – Camilla, Harry, William, and London. As examples of the mystical fact of synchronicity within our cosmos I have found these points relevant in every chart in which I have used them.

Note:  As in all my astrology charts, I use the Equal House System, a very old approach to the division of the circle into 12 houses, each said to reveal key themes and issues within different areas of each lifetime.*

The first observation I’ll make here is that the placement of Camilla, William, Henry, California – where Prince Harry and wife Meghan now reside – and perhaps London itself, are quite striking.  Continue reading The Birth Chart of Charles, Prince of Wales * William, Harry and the British Monarchy

Mandala * Sacred Vessel of Consciousness, Healing, and Evolution

Carl G. Jung, depth psychologist, was known quite simply to his friends as “the Shaman”. To Jung we owe a vast debt for his exploration of consciousness, including his own early bouts with what appears to have been borderline psychosis. He discovered, from Eastern philosophy, the Mandala, and used it extensively in his own seal-healing journeys.

Above all, Jung discovered the extraordinary role of the Mandala, in containing the Psyche within safe boundaries which made its creative life possible, and which also facilitated healing processes – within his own shamanic journey and in therapeutic sessions with his patients.

Here, I explore further the Mandala as a sacred vessel within which we gather our experiences here on Earth and then move them towards a Center – all this orchestrated by the Higher Self.  As we gather in experience, we grow, learn, and transform in ever-higher stages of spiritual evolution.

Venus * Goddess Of Love and the Law Of Attraction

In my work as an astrologer, I have come to see Venus as surprisingly central to the Web, with all its colorful threads, which forms the Mandala of the Birth Chart.  One of my most surprising findings has been that Venus may represent the love life of the client’s mother, while also representing the love life of the client themself.

Here we see how the “Spiritual DNA of the Birth Chart” can actually be seen arising from the psychic or physical line of family/clan.  Even if one is adopted, the DNA of the birth chart is attuned to the psychic, or spirit line of the family one is adopted into, as well as to that of the biological parent(s).

Venus Goddess of Beauty, Love and All Forms of Attraction

The Lady Venus (Greek Aphrodite) may seem to need no introduction when it comes to love expressed as romance and sensuality, but it turns out this area of life is a bit of a mystery to most people. Astrology has a lot to say about all this, providing an extremely varied and nuanced look at gender and sexuality through the prism of several Archetypes.

Astrology locates the sexual and gender spectra of experience within the larger framework of psyche in which these are embedded. Venus does not appear as a solitary figure in the Chart, but as part of a Web of energy.

In The Nature of the Psyche: Its Human Expression (A Seth Book) Seth, as channeled by Jane Roberts, spoke of the “tree of human sexuality” to describe how unique and complex our sexuality really is and how people express their sexual reality in subtly different ways.

Each person, in a way, is actually his or her own unique gender, for we blend our spiritual, psychological, cultural and physical dimensions as we mature into an expression of sexuality quite unique. We could say that there are as many genders, then, as there are people on Earth at any given moment.

The power of Venus spreads out in our Birth Chart and in our lives through the Sign it was in at our time of birth, through the House it is placed in, and the relationships which Venus forms in various angles with the other planets in the chart.

Gods, Goddesses, and Archetypes * Dramas, DNA, and Human Personality

Astrology, as both art and science, has always drawn deeply upon Archetypes, and these mysterious Forms are immortalized in the earliest of the world’s literature and theatrical performances, made most famous, perhaps, in the work of Shakespeare. For although it is true that they convey deep psychological truths in modern terms, it is also true that Archetypes are entrancing openings to higher realms of energy which enfold, shape, and somehow nurture us.

Carl G. Jung, the great psychiatrist, comparative mythology specialist and, ultimately, western shaman, used astrology because he understood that its focus on archetypes provided insight to the Psyche, commenting:

“Astrology is assured of recognition from psychology, without further
restrictions, because astrology represents the summation of all the
psychological knowledge of antiquity.”

Gods and Goddesses * Living Templates
The ancient Greeks, and Plato especially, knew long before Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell that the Archetypes were much more than symbolic components of moralizing stories. Whether as the Forms or Gods and Goddesses (he used both terms), Plato understood the Archetypes to be cosmic building blocks which literally organized all of the world we see, including human lives.

Precise definitions as to how Gods and Goddesses operated as Archetypes were not really spelled out, but on a general cultural level Greeks and Romans – and many civilizations before them – believed that Archetypes, called Gods and Goddesses because they ruled or at least altered and shaped the destiny of human beings, could be seen at work in the lives of individuals and nations in epics large or small. These came complete with a recognizable story line and with the possibilities of plot and character development all along the way.
