Venus * Goddess Of Love and the Law Of Attraction

In my work as an astrologer, I have come to see Venus as surprisingly central to the Web, with all its colorful threads, which forms the Mandala of the Birth Chart.  One of my most surprising findings has been that Venus may represent the love life of the client’s mother, while also representing the love life of the client themself.

Here we see how the “Spiritual DNA of the Birth Chart” can actually be seen arising from the psychic or physical line of family/clan.  Even if one is adopted, the DNA of the birth chart is attuned to the psychic, or spirit line of the family one is adopted into, as well as to that of the biological parent(s).

Venus Goddess of Beauty, Love and All Forms of Attraction

The Lady Venus (Greek Aphrodite) may seem to need no introduction when it comes to love expressed as romance and sensuality, but it turns out this area of life is a bit of a mystery to most people. Astrology has a lot to say about all this, providing an extremely varied and nuanced look at gender and sexuality through the prism of several Archetypes.

Astrology locates the sexual and gender spectra of experience within the larger framework of psyche in which these are embedded. Venus does not appear as a solitary figure in the Chart, but as part of a Web of energy.

In The Nature of the Psyche: Its Human Expression (A Seth Book) Seth, as channeled by Jane Roberts, spoke of the “tree of human sexuality” to describe how unique and complex our sexuality really is and how people express their sexual reality in subtly different ways.

Each person, in a way, is actually his or her own unique gender, for we blend our spiritual, psychological, cultural and physical dimensions as we mature into an expression of sexuality quite unique. We could say that there are as many genders, then, as there are people on Earth at any given moment.

The power of Venus spreads out in our Birth Chart and in our lives through the Sign it was in at our time of birth, through the House it is placed in, and the relationships which Venus forms in various angles with the other planets in the chart.

Saturn and Uranus * Great Rulers Of Aquarius

Meet the two giants, Saturn, the second one in the picture next to simply enormous Jupiter, and Uranus (turquoise) third in the picture, next to lovely blue Neptune. These four dwarf the other planets of our solar system. What makes Saturn and Uranus so interesting is that they are the co-rulers, in a very strange partnership indeed, of the Sign of Aquarius.

Since we are moving into an Age of Aquarius this Sign concerns us all, not to mention the fact that each of us also has the Sign of Aquarius somewhere in our Birth Charts.  The House Aquarius falls in or demarcates will be a place of experimentation, rebellion, creativity, a source of depression and frustration – and perhaps also of visionary leadership.

Likewise, we all have the planetary rulers of Aquarius – Saturn and Uranus – in our Birth Charts, in mathematical relation to each other as well as to other important features of our charts.  So, depending on the position of these powerful planets, and the House Aquarius falls in, some folks may actually be more Aquarian than the Sun Sign they were actually born under.

And Saturn and Uranus are an odd couple indeed – Saturn so uptight, rigid and habit-driven, Uranus such a free, rebellious spirit for whom habit is a kind of death.

The Mysterious Powers of Pluto * Death, Regeneration, and Transformation

In some scientific circles, Pluto is still considered, despite recent controversy, a legitimate planet. You can see it in the image here, the farthest planet out, and very tiny. Yet I find it to be one of the most intriguing of the planetary influences in the Birth Chart.

Jeff Green, founder of Evolutionary Astrology, has built an entire theory, and school, of astrology, around Pluto in the Birth Chart as the key to reincarnational history.

Pluto is not used in Classical and Medieval Astrology in the West, nor in Hindu Astrology in the East, based on the belief that Pluto has never been part of traditional astrology. There is some evidence, however, that the so-called Outer Planets – Pluto, Uranus and Neptune – were indeed known in ancient times, such as in Sumer.  Sumerian tablets translated by Zecharia Sitchin tell of a cosmic event within our solar system which – among other great happenings –  knocked Pluto from its orbit sending it into its present cold, outermost location.

Other texts describe the remarkable events leading to Uranus’ turning almost onto its side – a state which still mystifies modern physicists; and how Neptune became the “tranquilizer” of our planetary system, somehow holding all the planets within their given orbits.

The key words to Pluto are:  Extreme Experiences, Fear, Betrayal, Sexuality, Mysteries and Mystery, Transformation, Power, Death and Regeneration.

The Mysteries of Neptune * Illusion, Healing, and Travels in Time

While Pluto tends to bring experiences which grind ever more deeply down into the depths of our being, Neptune soothes our pain and lifts us up like a spiritual balloon. This provides us with new vision, a larger view of our life and of its challenges. When Neptune is nicely aspected in a chart, or receives a visit by transit of a planet such as Jupiter, it can seem as if we are floating high above the Grand Canyon or the Rain Forest and finally see the grandeur of life itself.

Neptune influences in our lives bring psychic gifts such as mediumship, clairvoyance, and esoteric healing arts.

It is true that Neptune can be a “hot-air balloon” and our elevation won’t last long if we are filled with unrealistic and somewhat wishful thinking and fake self-images.

Neptune has a reputation for creating fine, spidery webs of deceit which are so subtle yet so all-embracing that one can be lost inside before realizing that every thread in this web is a lie. We may be lying to ourselves, or to others, or we may have wandered into someone else’s web of deception, and if so, it will take drastic actions to extricate ourselves.
